The Neural Information Processing Systems Conference is taking seriously questions of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our conference. Our efforts in 2018 build on several existing, highly successful grassroots events--like the Women in Machine Learning and Black in AI workshops (and introducing more affinity workshops for 2018).
Additionally, NeurIPS 2018 is making structural changes, such as the new conference Code of Conduct. We are also providing and supporting childcare (and continuing the mother's room introduced by WiML), and are currently exploring options with the venue and caterers to ensure that everyone can have a positive, equitable conference experience. If you have ideas of how to make the conference more inclusive, please contact us and/or take the Inclusion Survey!
Our goal is to make the conference as welcoming as possible to all.
